Signature Card Redaction with anonym.plus

Clear holder data from a specimen card while the account reference stays.

Signature card redaction is the removal of personal data from a specimen-mark record. GLBA (15 U.S.C. §6802) limits how a bank shares nonpublic customer information. anonym.plus marks each identifier on your device, so the record stays useful while the holder data is shielded.

When this applies

Such a record ties a person's name and specimen mark to an account. You must mask the holder data before the file reaches a third party.

How anonym.plus handles it

  1. Open the scanned image in anonym.plus on your device.
  2. Local OCR reads the printed name and number line.
  3. The tool flags the holder, SSN, and bank number.
  4. Confirm the flags and keep the bank's internal codes.
  5. Black out the specimen mark and personal fields.
  6. Save the clean image locally.

Limitations & cautions

A handwritten mark is itself a biometric clue and may survive as an image even after text fields are masked. Use Redact to black out that mark when you need true anonymity.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tool remove the handwritten mark?

It flags the text fields. To hide the specimen mark, draw a Redact box over the image so the pixels are removed.

Can I keep the account reference?

Yes. Allow-list the internal code, or mask the number to its last four digits instead of removing it fully.

Is the scanned image uploaded?

No. The app works on your device with no cloud step, so the record stays private.
