Yes. Because all processing is offline, no data leaves your machine — simplifying GDPR Art. 28 processor agreements. Replace and Redact remove the original values irreversibly and support erasure under Art. 17. Hash and Encrypt are pseudonymisation, not anonymisation: under GDPR Art. 4(5) those values remain personal data. Under the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, in force since 1 August 2024, with obligations phasing in until 2 August 2027), removing personal data from training datasets entirely offline supports the Art. 10 data-governance duties — which stay with you as provider or deployer.
You can install and activate the app on up to 3 computers simultaneously (e.g., your desktop and two laptops). Deactivate a machine from the account dashboard to free a slot if you change hardware.
Yes. Because the app processes data entirely locally, it meets the Safe Harbor and Expert Determination de-identification standards under 45 CFR §164.514. The Pro or Expert plan is recommended for healthcare use cases (PDF, DOCX, and batch processing of patient records). Note: anonym.plus is a standalone desktop tool, not a cloud service — it is not a HIPAA Business Associate (45 CFR §160.103) and no Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is required or offered. Your organization remains responsible for HIPAA compliance in how you use de-identified outputs.
