Mortgage File Redaction with anonym.plus

Clear personal data from a home-financing bundle before you share it.

In simple terms, PII redaction is the on-device process of finding and masking personally identifiable information in a document before it is shared.

Mortgage file redaction is the removal of personal data from a home-financing pack. Once granted, the legal charge itself is a registrable disposition under LRA 2002 s.27(2)(f), and s.66 opens the title register to anyone who asks. Some of the relationship is therefore public already; anonym.plus clears what your copy adds on top of that, on your own device.

When this applies

A full pack binds the application, the survey, and disclosures, each with raw identifiers. The registered charge shows the lender's name and the property, but not the borrower's bank details, income, or contact data. You strip that surplus before the folder reaches a funder or an auditor.

How anonym.plus handles it

  1. Point anonym.plus at the file on your machine.
  2. Local OCR reads scanned deeds and survey pages.
  3. The tool flags NI numbers, account details, and addresses.
  4. Review flags across each document in the set.
  5. Swap or black out the confirmed items.
  6. Save the clean copy locally.

Limitations & cautions

A bound set mixes scans and native files, so image pages lean on OCR. Check the flags on faint scans. The property address itself can re-identify the household even after names go, and it is already partly public once the charge is registered.

Frequently asked questions

Can the whole folder be cleaned at once?

Yes. Point the tool at the directory, and batch mode handles up to 20 documents per run, with OCR for any scanned pages, so the survey, disclosures, and correspondence all get the same pass.

Should I redact the property address?

Often yes, for the copies you circulate beyond the file. The address is location data that can re-identify the household, and while the registered charge already names the property under LRA 2002 s.27, your working file usually carries far more around it.

Does anything go to a server?

No. The app is a 100% offline desktop tool. Nothing is uploaded, so the pack stays on your device, and only the registered charge itself is ever public, not your working file.
