anonym.plus hides patient data in health records. It runs on your own device, fully offline. Health data is a special category under UK GDPR Art. 9. Once you make the file truly anonymous, it leaves UK GDPR scope under Recital 26. The Data Protection Act 2018 and the NHS confidentiality code set the bar for handling it. There is no cloud upload. How de-identification works
The app opens each file on your computer. It never sends a record to any server. It scans the text for names, dates and ID numbers. Local OCR reads scanned pages too. It marks each match for your review. You then pick an action. You can replace a value, black it out, or mask part of it. The clean copy keeps its clinical meaning. Only the private parts change.
