An organisation deposition redaction is the removal of personal data from the testimony of a body's spokesperson taken under CPR Part 34. anonym.plus runs locally and keeps the policy and process answers that drive the case.
When this applies
A company puts forward a witness to speak on its behalf on listed topics. The record names that person and many employees, so those IDs must be hidden.
How anonym.plus handles it
- Bring the record into anonym.plus on your device.
- The tool flags the deponent and named employees.
- Topic and policy answers stay; only IDs get flagged.
- Swap them for labels like [REPRESENTATIVE] and [EMPLOYEE].
- Save the clean record on your device.
What you need to provide
- The record (PDF, DOCX, or TXT).
- An operator (Replace keeps the answers readable).
- Optional role map for [REPRESENTATIVE] and employee labels.

Compliance achieved
- Cleans testimony given after an order under CPR 34.8(1), which makes the person examined the deponent and the evidence the deposition under CPR 34.8(2).
- Covers documents produced with the witness under a witness summons issued under CPR 34.2(1).
- Treats every named employee as personal data processed for a legal claim under UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f), and under Art. 9(2)(f) where health or other special category detail surfaces in the answers.
- Keeps the policy and process answers whole for the case.
- Fully offline — corporate data stays on your machine.

Limitations & cautions
Corporate testimony names many staff in passing. Check that every named employee is flagged, not just the witness. A job title plus a small team can still hint at one person, so review those lines.
Frequently asked questions
What is an organisation deposition?
There is no separate corporate-witness rule in England and Wales. Under CPR 34.8(1) a party applies for an order that a person be examined before the hearing; CPR 34.8(2) calls that person the deponent and the evidence the deposition. Where the body speaks through an officer, that officer is the deponent, and CPR 34.2(1) can compel attendance and the production of documents.
Are employee names removed too?
Yes. The deponent and any named staff are flagged, since each is personal data inside the record.
Do the policy answers stay?
Yes. Only IDs change. The testimony on process, policy, and facts stays word for word.
