Statement of Truth Redaction with anonym.plus

Clear personal identifiers from a verified document while the signed facts stay.

In simple terms, PII redaction is the on-device process of finding and masking personally identifiable information in a document before it is shared.

Statement-of-truth redaction is the removal of personal data from a verified document. CPR 22.1(1) lists what must be verified, from a pleading to a witness statement, and CPR PD 22 sets the wording that carries the contempt warning. anonym.plus marks each identifier on your device, so the signed facts stay whole while the data goes.

When this applies

A verified document states facts on which someone will act, and it often cites third-party data. The verification carries weight: under CPR 32.14(1) contempt proceedings may be brought against a person who makes a false statement in a document verified by a statement of truth without an honest belief in its truth. Never edit that wording itself.

How anonym.plus handles it

  1. Open the document in anonym.plus on your device.
  2. The tool flags the maker and third-party identifiers.
  3. Local OCR reads a scanned signature page.
  4. Keep the verification wording intact.
  5. Swap or black out the confirmed items.
  6. Save the clean copy locally.

Limitations & cautions

A maker may state a unique fact that re-identifies someone with no name at all. The tool flags named items only. Never alter the verified wording itself: the signature attaches to the document as signed.

Frequently asked questions

Which documents need a statement of truth?

CPR 22.1(1) lists them, including a pleading, a response to a Part 18 request for further information, and a witness statement. anonym.plus flags identifiers the same way in each.

Will the verification wording survive the pass?

Yes. Protect it via the allow-list. PD 22 prescribes that wording, and only personal identifiers in the body are marked.

What is the risk of editing a verified document?

CPR 32.14(1) exposes the maker to contempt proceedings, and CPR Part 81 governs how such an application is brought. Redact around the verified text rather than through it.
