Offboarding Checklist Redaction with anonym.plus

Clear a departing worker's identifiers from a checklist before it is shared or archived.

Offboarding checklist redaction is the removal of personal identifiers from a leaver's exit task list. GDPR Recital 26 places truly anonymous data outside its scope. anonym.plus marks each name, login, and contact on your device, so the steps stay readable while the person behind them is hidden.

When this applies

An exit list ties tasks to one named worker, their logins, and their assets. You strip those details before the file is shared with IT or stored long-term.

How anonym.plus handles it

  1. Open the checklist in anonym.plus on your device.
  2. The app flags the worker, logins, and contact lines.
  3. Local OCR reads a scanned, signed sheet.
  4. Keep the task names and status columns intact.
  5. Swap or black out the confirmed identifiers.
  6. Save the clean sheet locally.

Limitations & cautions

A checklist can still betray a person through a unique asset tag or desk. The app flags named items. Use the allow-list with care, and confirm nothing in a kept column points back to one worker.

Frequently asked questions

Why redact a routine exit list?

It links one named person to logins and assets. Stripping those details lets you keep the process record without holding identifiable data, in line with Recital 26.

Can I keep the asset tags?

Yes, via the allow-list, but only if a tag cannot single out the worker. Otherwise mask it too.

Does processing need internet?

No. The whole run is offline, so the sheet never leaves your machine.
