Fixed Asset Register Redaction with anonym.plus

Clear holder and location personal data from a property register before sharing.

In simple terms, PII redaction is the on-device process of finding and masking personally identifiable information in a document before it is shared.

Fixed asset register redaction is the removal of personal data from a property list. The register exists for accounting and tax, not for tracking people. FRS 102 Section 17 governs how property, plant, and equipment is measured and disclosed. Capital Allowances Act 2001 s.11 sets the general conditions for plant and machinery allowances. Neither needs a custodian's home address. anonym.plus marks each identifier on your device.

When this applies

The register names who holds each item and often a home-office address. For a remote worker, that address plus one item can identify a household. You strip those fields before the list is shared, so it meets the anonymity test in UK GDPR Recital 26.

How anonym.plus handles it

  1. Open the register in anonym.plus on your device.
  2. It scans holder names, locations, and serials.
  3. The app marks the keeper and any home address.
  4. Keep item tags, costs, and depreciation columns.
  5. Replace or mask the confirmed identifiers.
  6. Save the clean list locally.

Limitations & cautions

A home-office address tied to one item can still single out its keeper. A serial number is not personal data on its own, but it becomes so once linked to a named holder. The app marks named items, not every indirect clue. Review remote-worker rows before you share.

Frequently asked questions

Why redact who holds an item?

A custodian name and a home address are personal data. Neither is needed for FRS 102 Section 17 disclosure or a capital allowances claim, so removing them lets the list meet the anonymity test in UK GDPR Recital 26.

Can I keep tags and costs?

Yes. Allow-list the tag, cost, and depreciation columns. Only personal data is marked, so the register still supports FRS 102 Section 17 disclosure.

Is the register uploaded?

No. The app runs locally, so property data never leaves your device.
