Investor Deck Redaction with anonym.plus

Clear personal data from slides while the pitch and metrics stay.

In simple terms, PII redaction is the on-device process of finding and masking personally identifiable information in a document before it is shared.

Investor-deck redaction is the removal of PII from pitch slides. The deck is also a financial promotion: FSMA 2000 s.21 bars an unauthorised person from communicating an investment invitation unless the content is approved or an exemption applies. anonym.plus clears the named team, customers, and contacts locally while the metrics stay.

When this applies

A pitch deck names the team, customers, and contacts in its slides and notes. It usually goes out under the Financial Promotion Order 2005 exemptions — art. 19 investment professionals, art. 49 high net worth companies, and the certified or self-certified investor routes. Wider circulation means clearing the people first.

How anonym.plus handles it

  1. Load the deck into anonym.plus on your device.
  2. It scans slide text and speaker notes for names.
  3. Metrics, charts, and the story stay in place.
  4. Swap or black out the confirmed PII.
  5. Save the clean file on your device.

Limitations & cautions

Redaction does not cure a financial promotion problem. FSMA 2000 s.21 turns on who receives the invitation and whether an FPO 2005 exemption covers them, not on whose name is on a slide. A customer logo can also re-identify after the text goes, since image logos slip past a text scan.

Frequently asked questions

Are speaker notes checked too?

Yes. The hidden notes are scanned along with the visible slide text.

Does anonymising the deck make it safe to circulate?

No. FSMA 2000 s.21 restricts communicating an invitation to invest unless the content is approved or an exemption in the Financial Promotion Order 2005 applies. Check the recipient category first; redaction is a privacy step, not a permission.

Does it read PPTX as well as PDF?

Yes. Slide decks and exported PDFs both work on your device.
