Policy Acknowledgement Redaction with anonym.plus

Clear signer data from a policy acknowledgement before it is shared.

In simple terms, PII redaction is the on-device process of finding and masking personally identifiable information in a document before it is shared.

Policy acknowledgement redaction is the removal of identifiers from a signed sign-off. The ACAS Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures expects rules and procedures to be written down and made known to employees, and the sign-off is how an employer proves the second half. anonym.plus marks names and dates on your device, so the proof stays intact while the signer's data goes.

When this applies

A tribunal can adjust an award by up to 25% under s.207A of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 where a party unreasonably fails to follow the ACAS Code. That makes a batch of sign-offs evidence worth keeping and worth protecting. UK GDPR Art. 5(2) asks the same of you: be able to show it, without spreading names further than needed.

How anonym.plus handles it

  1. Open the sign-off in anonym.plus on your device.
  2. Local OCR reads a scanned, signed page.
  3. The tool flags signer names and dates.
  4. Confirm each flag and keep the document title.
  5. Swap or black out the confirmed items.
  6. Save the clean copy locally.

Limitations & cautions

A redacted sign-off no longer proves who signed, so keep the identified original wherever the acknowledgement itself is the evidence. Share the cleaned version for counts, audits, and training reports instead.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep the document title while removing names?

Yes. Allow-list the title and version so a reader can still see which handbook edition was acknowledged, while signer identifiers are removed.

Does a redacted sign-off still prove acknowledgement?

Not on its own. Keep the identified original on file, because that is the copy that answers a tribunal asking whether the ACAS Code was followed.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The app is fully offline, so signer data stays on your machine.
