Load File Redaction with anonym.plus

Clear PII from a load file while the field structure stays intact.

Load-file redaction is the removal of personal data from the metadata and extracted-text fields of an EDRM exchange index. anonym.plus runs locally and keeps the delimited structure your review platform needs.

When this applies

This index (DAT, OPT, or CSV) feeds documents into a review platform. Its extracted-text and custodian fields often hold names and numbers you must clear.

How anonym.plus handles it

  1. Open the DAT or CSV in anonym.plus on your device.
  2. It maps the delimited fields, including extracted text.
  3. The tool flags names, contacts, and IDs per field.
  4. Confirm the flags and keep the delimiters intact.
  5. Replace or mask each confirmed value.
  6. Save the clean index on your device.

Limitations & cautions

These files are delimiter-sensitive. A stray quote or comma in a swapped value can break a field. Test the output in your platform on a small batch first, and keep the document-reference fields untouched unless you mean to change them.

Frequently asked questions

What is a load file?

It is the delimited index (DAT, OPT, or CSV) that feeds documents and their metadata into a review platform. The EDRM model defines this exchange step, used under CPR PD 31B.

Will redaction break the field structure?

No, if you keep delimiters intact. The tool swaps values inside fields and leaves the structure for your platform to read.

Are document-reference numbers changed?

Not unless you ask. Reference fields usually stay, since they key the documents in review.
